Sandra Oh Is So Much More Than That Character She Played On ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ She Just Made History!

Sandra Oh just became the first Asian entertainer to host one of the biggest and most prestigious award ceremonies of the year, the 2019 Golden Globes, with Andy Samberg as her co-host.

Although many may know her from “Grey’s Anatomy,” Oh has been a part of the industry for 20 years. She has an impressive resume of over 80 acting credits. Among them include the acclaimed HBO series “Arli$$,” Fox’s “American Dad,” and major film roles in movies such as “Sideways” and “Rabbit Hole.” She currently stars in the brand new series, “Killing Eve,” for which she received a 2019 Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Drama TV Series.

This is not Oh’s first Golden Globe. She received one in 2006 for her depiction of Dr. Cristina Yang in “Grey’s Anatomy,” in the category of Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries, or Motion Picture for TV. Now, in addition to being the first person of Asian descent to host the Golden Globes, she is also the first Asian Actor to win multiple Golden Globes. With all of these firsts under her belt, she made sure to thank her parents in her speech, below.

When Oh was interviewed by the Hollywood Reporter about co-hosting the Golden Globes, she had this to say,
