Federal Trade Commission Issues Warning Letters to Instagram Celebs




The Federal Trade Commission has recently sent out over 90 letters to celebrities and social media influencers in an attempt to remind them they need to clearly state when a sponsored social media post has been paid for.

Additionally, letters were sent to the stars’ agents as well as brands they were promoting, including Chanel, Adidas, Johnson & Johnson, and more.

Monday morning, a list of numerous celebs and influencers who received these letters was released. The list contained the names of the brands they were promoting as well.

The letter reads, “The FTC’s Endorsement Guides state that if there is a ‘material connection’ between the endorser and the marketer of a product — in other words, a connection that might affect the weight or credibility that consumers give the endorsement — that connection should be clearly and conspicuously disclosed, unless the connection is already clear from the context of the communication containing the endorsement. Material connections could consist of a business or family relationship, monetary payment, or the provision of free products to the endorser.”

“If you write about how much you like something you bought on your own and you’re not being rewarded, you don’t have to worry,” the letter clarified.

Katy Perry’s Emotional Performance at the One Love Manchester Benefit Concert Will Not Be Forgotten




During her performance Sunday at the One Love Manchester benefit concert, Katy Perry gave an emotional speech to the crowd of 60,000 people.

“It’s not easy to always choose love, is it? Especially in moments like these, right? It can be the most difficult thing to do. But love conquers fear, love conquers hate,” she said. “And this love that you choose will give you strength. It’s our greatest power.”

Then, she asked the crowd to participate in a “little exercise in love.” She explained, “Just touch the next person, touch a person next to you. Make human contact. Tell them ‘I love you.’ Look in their eyes. Say ‘I love you.’ Do it. Everyone out there, everyone at home. I encourage you to choose love even when it’s difficult. Let no one take that away from you.”


Katy wore a white dress decorated with photos of the victims from the May 22 Manchester attack. She performed “Roar” as well as a stripped-down version of “Part of Me.”

The 3-hour show also featured appearances from Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, Niall Horan, Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Little Mix and more.

Dozens of celebrities performed at the benefit, raising nearly $3.5 million according to the British Red Cross. Sunday’s event brings the total dollar amount raised to more than $12 million.

All profits will benefit the Manchester Emergency Fund. The fund was created by the Red Cross and the Manchester City Council following the bombing.

You Can Now Buy Rihanna’s Newest Releases From Her Fenty PUMA 2017 Collection




Not so long after Rihanna’s last shoe release, she’s back to with another drop from her Fenty PUMA 2017 spring/summer collection.

The collection, inspired by Marie Antoinette, ranges from headwear to sneakers to cozy apparel. At Paris Fashion Night back in March, Rihanna first presented her collection at the Bibliotheque National de France.

Before the show, Rihanna explained why the collection is her favorite yet. “There’s a lot of simple things and then a lot of complicated, more exaggerated pieces that combine really well together,” she said. “That’s my favorite thing to do. I’ve never been in love with a collection more than this one.”

As far as clothing goes, Rihanna has released three slim-fit Sleeveless Cropped Crew Necks which are sure to be a hit as the weather continues to warm up.


“When I was in school, it was always my dream to be able to dress up in whatever I wanted,” she said in a statement. “But in Barbados it was mandatory to wear a school uniform, so I had so much fun this season creating these back-to-school inspired looks, and I’m honored to present the collection in such a majestic national monument.”

She’s also created a lineup of satin caps, front-lacing hoodies, hockey tees, ruffle backpacks, and even an embroidered lace durag.

Priced at around €44 to 68 EUR, Rihanna’s new gear is now available through select retailers.

Rihanna described the collection’s style by saying, “as if Marie Antoinette went to the gym!” Pastel streetwear with embellishments like bows make up the bulk of the collection.

Rihanna’s New Makeup Line Will Be Released This September




When Rihanna announced her own makeup line, Fenty Beauty, last year, fans were pretty pumped.

The new makeup line is a collaboration with the Kendo division of LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, the company which also owns Sephora.

Fenty Beauty’s official drop date is scheduled for this fall, according to a series of viral posts on Rihanna’s social media channels. This is the first update since February, when Fenty put out a casting call for makeup artists.

Rihanna also has made an appearance of Fenty PUMA’s Instagram page, expressing how exciting she is for the collection in a video clip.

“As you guys may have heard already, I am working on creating a beauty line, Fenty Beauty, and I can’t wait for you guys to see what I’ve been working on,” she says in the clip. “I’m super excited about it.”

The first Fenty PUMA product to be revealed on Instagram was a holographic lip color Rihanna sported at the spring 2017 runway show.


While an exact date for the collection’s release has not yet been announced, we can expect to first see it around September. Unfortunately, Rihanna’s new line will not be available in her native country of Barbados.

With a tagline like “the new generation of beauty,” we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the star’s latest collection!

Last April, luxury cooperation LVMH signed Rihanna to develop the line for a whopping $10 million. The line will be developed with Kendo, who is the original private label development department of Sephora. Kendo is additionally behind Marc Jacobs Beauty and Kat Von D Beauty.

With seven fragrances already under her belt, as well as several MAC collections, Rihanna’s bound to have another huge success on her hands with the Fenty Puma 2017 collection.
