Kering, owner of luxury fashion labels such as Gucci and Balenciaga, has appointed Emma Watson as a company director. The appointment of the Harry Potter actress to the Board of Directors was approved at the company’s annual general meeting on Tuesday.
Watson has also been appointed Chair of the Sustainability Committee .This is deserved with her work as a UN WOMEN Global Goodwill Ambassador and guest feature in an issue of Vogue Australia on sustainable fashion.
With Watson, Tidjane Thiam and Jean Liu were also appointed company directors. Thiam is a former CEO of Credit Suisse Group AG and will also serve as Chair of the Audit Committee. Liu is the president of Chinese car-hailing service, Didi Chuxing.
