Amanda Seyfried doesn't do the Met Gala halfway. After sitting out last year's ceremony, she made her return to the steps of the Met in a custom Prada gown that read less "fashion moment" and more full coronation. The strapless bubblegum-pink design featured a body-skimming bodice with a drop waist that gave way to an eruption of thick ruffles cascading into a train — the kind of silhouette that makes a room go quiet. Tiffany & Co. jewelry sealed the look: an aquamarine princess necklace and matching statement earrings that, frankly, demanded a throne.

A Prada Loyalist With a Very Good Track Record

This isn't Seyfried's first time leaning on Prada for the occasion. According to Harper's Bazaar, her 2024 appearance — at the "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" gala under the "Garden of Time" dress code — featured an upcycled aluminum-effect gown sourced from Prada's Spring 2009 collection, reworked in crinkled silver satin with beaded floral embellishments and finished with a metal crown that mirrored her hair. It was archival dressing done with actual intention, not just nostalgia bait.

Behind the scenes, the process sounds exactly as charming as the results. Her makeup artist Genevieve Herr described a prep ritual involving granola, good energy, and a Taylor Swift soundtrack. "She's really an amazing girl and very down to earth," Herr told the publication — which, given the general chaos of Met Gala day, sounds like the highest possible compliment.

Monday night marked Seyfried's fifth Met Gala appearance overall, a count that stretches back to 2013 when she walked the carpet alongside director Pedro Almodóvar. Five appearances, zero forgettable ones — that's a record worth noting in a room full of people trying very hard to be remembered.

When you only show up selectively, you'd better show up completely — and Seyfried, in head-to-toe pink Prada with aquamarine at her throat, made the strongest possible case for the power of a well-timed return.
