Love stories rarely have a dress this good. When Dua Lipa and Callum Turner married on May 31, 2026, at Old Marylebone Town Hall in London, the occasion was deliberately small — close friends, family, confetti thrown outside a registry office. But Lipa's outfit was anything but understated. According to Harper's Bazaar, she wore a custom Schiaparelli skirt suit designed by Daniel Roseberry, accessorized with gloves, Christian Louboutin pumps, Bulgari jewelry, and a wide-brim Stephen Jones hat. Turner wore navy. The whole thing looked like a movie — specifically, the kind of movie where the woman has better taste than anyone around her.

How Two Brits and One Book Became a Wedding

The origin story is almost annoyingly romantic. Lipa first met Turner at The River Cafe in London, introduced by restaurant cofounder Ruth Rogers. Nothing happened — until roughly a year later, when she spotted him at dinner in Los Angeles and remembered him as, in her own words, "that really hot guy from The River Cafe." The clincher: they were both reading the same novel, Hernán Diaz's Trust. Shared reading taste as foreplay. It works. Romance rumors surfaced in January 2024 after Lipa attended the premiere after-party for Turner's Apple TV+ series Masters of the Air, and the two went increasingly public from there — Glastonbury appearances, Eiffel Tower PDA during Paris Fashion Week, a Christmas selfie, a very conspicuous diamond ring by February 2025.

Lipa confirmed the engagement in June 2025, revealing that Turner had the ring custom made after consulting her best friends and sister Rina. "It's so me," she said. "It's nice to know the person you're going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well." She also admitted she'd never been someone who fantasized about weddings — until suddenly she was engaged and asking herself what she'd wear. The answer, it turned out, was Schiaparelli. Good instincts.

The registry ceremony will be followed by a three-day celebration in Sicily — because if you're going to do intimate, you might as well also do enormous in the most beautiful place on earth. An insider told People the London ceremony was "exactly what they wanted — intimate and meaningful." For a couple that spent much of their courtship navigating the awkwardness of high-profile dating — Lipa once told Rolling Stone that romance as a public person is "not really so straightforward" — there's something satisfying about how quietly, and how stylishly, they pulled this off.

The best wedding outfit isn't the one that performs for photographers — it's the one that looks like you knew exactly who you were the whole time.
