Makeup artist Fara Homidi has spent years occupying a very specific intersection — the kind where a beauty brand doesn't just sell product, it sells a whole visual language. She's painted faces for Paloma Elsesser and Alex Consani, worked with Miu Miu, Gucci, and The Row, and built Fara Homidi Beauty into a brand known for its bold pigments, minimal technique, and packaging so covetable it barely needs the product inside. Now she's expanding the vocabulary further: the brand just launched its first pair of sunglasses.

The Frame Is the Point

According to Harper's Bazaar, the new Arenal sunglasses — named after the Arenal volcano in Costa Rica and crafted in Italy — arrive as an inky black, '90s-inspired rectangular frame designed to sit deliberately low on the face, just skimming the brow line. The placement is intentional. Homidi calls it "beauty-aligned," engineered to reveal a flash of eyeshadow above the frame. She launched her first eye compact around the same time, and the pairing is not coincidental.

This isn't Homidi's first move beyond the makeup bag. Her Pochette — a vegan leather makeup bag that doubles as a clutch — already signaled that she was building something closer to a lifestyle edit than a beauty line. Each pair of Arenal sunglasses ships in a vegan leather pouch inspired by the Pochette, keeping the world she's constructed tight and coherent. Sky-blue and coral-red compacts, glossy lip containers, a sleek black bag, and now sunglasses — the whole thing reads like a very considered flat lay that you'd actually want to carry.

Homidi describes the frames as "not for the faint of heart," which feels right. These are sunglasses built for someone who pairs them with bronzed, sun-warmed skin or a sharp lip liner moment — not someone who grabs shades as an afterthought on the way out the door. The entire Fara Homidi Beauty ethos has always been about intentionality with minimal effort, and the Arenal frames extend that logic into accessories without losing the edge.

Since the brand's 2023 launch, Homidi has been quietly building the case that makeup and fashion aren't just adjacent — they're the same decision. The Arenal sunglasses, available now exclusively on the brand's site, are the clearest proof yet.

When your sunglasses are designed to show off your eyeshadow, the beauty and fashion conversation officially collapses into one.
