Demna's Resort 2027 debut for Gucci didn't end when the models left the runway. It shapeshifted into something far more theatrical — a three-floor after-party tucked inside the Lotte New York Palace on Madison Avenue, steps from St. Patrick's Cathedral and the controlled chaos of Times Square. The invite framed the evening as a house party hosted by Barbara Gucci, the fictional character Demi Moore inhabited in The Tiger, Demna and Spike Jonze's short film for the house. The fiction-meets-fashion conceit wasn't just marketing copy — it was the entire architecture of the night, according to Vogue.

The guest list read like someone shuffled three different industries together and let them loose: Mariah Carey, Cindy Crawford, Tom Brady, Paris Hilton, Playboi Carti, Stormzy, Laura Harrier, Alex Consani, Alton Mason. The first floor greeted them with mirrored walls buried in white calla lilies, waitstaff who looked suspiciously like they'd just walked the show, and trays of New York-coded Gucci-branded snack boxes — sliders, pastrami squares, mini pizzas. Pol Roger Champagne, cranberry Cosmopolitans, and ginger tequila kept everything moving. A live jazz quintet worked through swing classics, including Cole Porter's I've Got You Under My Skin, while another room let Sade soundtrack a 16-seat dinner table. GQ's Mobolaji Dawodu called the energy simply: "sexy." Laura Harrier, still processing the runway-to-mansion whiplash, described it as "exciting and a bit surreal."

Down the Rabbit Hole

The second floor leaned into the uncanny: Tarot card readings in a dim, smoke-hazed room where models Dree Hemingway and Mariacarla Boscono lingered, a fully functioning gym where actual guests were working out, and a wood-paneled office study where Paris Hilton posed beside a mahogany desk. First-time model Jayden Agya, fresh off walking his debut show that same evening, said being surrounded by his idols still didn't feel real. Downstairs, the basement had been completely converted — velvet walls and plush carpets soaked in Gucci's signature red, techno and house sets from DJ BrokinPaper rattling through the space, a packed corner bar, and a pool table that drew genuinely competitive rounds late into the night.

By 2 a.m., the evening had dissolved into karaoke — Hilton included, who had previously announced she'd leave early and did not — and silver decanters circulating with mini donuts and caramel candies. Photographer Iza El Nems called it "a cultural moment." Her collaborator Julian Jackson went further: "One of the best parties I've been to in a long time." When the crowd finally filtered into the now-quiet stone courtyard, the Gucci Mansion had already ceased to exist — a one-night fiction that, for a few hours, felt entirely real.
