On Performance Flex Bra Review: A Fitness Editor’s Honest Take
It’s supportive and stylish.

If you have a larger bust, you already know: sports bra shopping isn't a chore, it's a mission. Straps that slip, necklines that strangle, underbands that cut — the whole experience can feel like punishment for simply wanting to work out. So when the On Performance Flex Bra took home the Women's Health 2026 Fitness Award for best sports bra overall, it was worth paying attention to.
According to Women's Health Magazine, a fitness editor and certified trainer with a 38DD chest put the bra through its paces across heavy strength sessions, runs, box jumps, kettlebell swings, hurdle bounds, and even everyday errands — basically every scenario a sports bra needs to survive. The verdict? Largely impressive, with one significant caveat.
What Actually Works
The adjustable straps are the bra's standout feature. Crank them tighter for high-impact cardio; loosen them slightly for lifting or low-key movement — and crucially, they stay exactly where you set them. No mid-run slippage, no mid-jump drama. The neckline also earns points: it provides real coverage without the suffocating, shoulder-digging effect that plagues so many bras built for bigger busts. The lower scoop back and cutout detail keep things feeling relaxed enough for off-gym wear. Built-in padding holds its shape through repeated washing, which eliminates the all-too-common laundering lottery. The fabric — a quick-dry polyester-elastane blend with mesh panels at the back — handles sweat efficiently and stays breathable at high intensity. Fair warning though: it skews functional over soft. If your priority is buttery, second-skin texture, this isn't it.
The one real sticking point is sizing. The bra runs snug through the ribcage, and XL is the top of the range — a genuine limitation for anyone with a wider frame. The stretch in the fabric makes it wearable, but if your ribcage measures beyond 38 inches, the fit may cross from firm into uncomfortable. In a category where women with larger busts are already underserved, stopping at XL feels like a miss.
Within its size range, though, the On Performance Flex Bra earns its award — find your fit, and you may have just found your new training staple.
