Prince William Says He’s Hoping for an Invite to Taylor Swift’s Wedding

Reported by Harper's Bazaar.

Prince William wants a seat at the wedding of the year — and honestly, same. During a candid appearance on Heart Breakfast radio, the Prince of Wales let slip that he's very much hoping for an invite to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's rumored July 4th nuptials. Asked directly whether he'd received one, William's response was anything but a denial: "No comment. I'm hoping and I'm sure there might be an invitation around, but we'll see." According to Harper's Bazaar, the topic came up organically after William requested they play Swift's "Opalite" — citing daughter Princess Charlotte's full-blown Swiftie obsession as his gateway drug.

A Royal Fan With Receipts

William's Swift fandom isn't a bit — it has a paper trail. Back in 2013, he performed "Livin' on a Prayer" alongside Swift and Jon Bon Jovi at a charity gala hosted at Kensington Palace, which is either the most unexpected celebrity crossover in history or exactly the kind of thing that happens when you're Prince of Wales. Then in 2024, he brought Prince George and Princess Charlotte to the Eras Tour in London, later posting selfies with Swift — and Kelce — on the couple's official Instagram. That's not a casual fan. That's a man doing the work.

He also took a moment during the interview to gush about Princess Catherine in a way that's being described as unusually open — though the Swift wedding speculation is, understandably, the headline that got away. William noted that Charlotte, in particular, is "obsessed" with Swift, making the family's repeat appearances at her events less surprising and significantly more adorable.

Whether an invitation materializes is anyone's guess — Swift and Kelce have kept their alleged summer wedding plans tightly under wraps. But if the guest list does include a British royal who can harmonize on classic Bon Jovi, William has clearly made his case.

Never underestimate the networking power of a well-timed Eras Tour selfie.
