The Zankov x Banana Republic Collab Will Refresh Your Entire Fall Wardrobe

If your fall wardrobe is looking like a grayscale mood board, Henry Zankov has arrived to fix that. The knitwear designer — beloved for color combinations that feel joyful without being juvenile — has partnered with Banana Republic on a 27-piece collection that hits stores October 20, with loyalty members getting early access a day prior. Pieces run $90 to $600 and span womenswear, menswear, and accessories.

According to Harper's Bazaar, Zankov went straight into Banana Republic's archives to build the range, pulling references that date back decades and rebuilding them with his signature obsessions: saturated color, tactile texture, and what he calls "a sense of humor." The result is brushed cashmere sweaters pieced together like fabric collages, marigold yellow knits bold enough to anchor an entire look, and socks in lilac and tangerine that make the case for treating hosiery as a statement. Zankov's own styling advice? Drape the patchwork knits off the body — around the shoulders or hips, worn like a scarf — which sounds like a styling trick and lands like a personality trait.

Built to Last, Not Just to Look Good

The ambition here goes beyond seasonal dressing. Zankov has spoken openly about wanting to design what he calls "future heirlooms" — pieces with enough craft and intention that you'd actually hold onto them. That ethos shaped the collection's standout investment pieces: the Mateo, a burgundy leather bomber; the Helene, a leather-and-suede pencil skirt traced from a 1986 archival style; and the Lev, a reimagined 1950s car coat with a ballooned silhouette and leather collar. These aren't trend pieces dressed up in nostalgia — they're built with the logic of something you'd pass down.

For anyone who has quietly grown tired of the uniform neutrals that dominate most capsule wardrobe conversations, this collab is a well-timed intervention. It doesn't ask you to blow up your existing wardrobe — it asks you to make it more interesting.

The Zankov x Banana Republic collection is proof that accessible luxury and genuine creative vision aren't mutually exclusive — and that the most enduring things in your closet might just be the ones with the most color.
