Even in our Wildest Dreams, we didn’t see a Taylor album coming this year, but, knowing us All Too Well, she’s benevolently giving us 16 songs in her new album, Folkore, dropping midnight EST. Just the music to make our 2020 better.
Revealing the album art and background information leading to the production, she said, “Most of the things I planned this summer didn’t end up happening, but there is something I hadn’t planned that DID happen. And that thing is my 8th studio album, Folklore. Surprise! Tonight at midnight I’ll be releasing my entire brand new album of songs I’ve poured all of my whims, dreams, fears and musings into.”

Not the album release party we’re usually accustomed to seeing but à la COVID-19, she is kicking off her album release with the premiere of the music video to Cardigan, a track in Folklore.
Swift made sure to let us know that all the production with the video was safe and done by the books. She tweeted that the shoot was supervised by a medical inspector and that everyone wore masks and maintained distance. Taylor also added that she did her hair, makeup and styling herself.
